Young Genealogy Historical Documents

In Vol. 3 of the Georgia Archives there are numerous instances where our ancestors were on record for one reason or another. Below are the references mostly to Isaac Young Sr.  One note here: the very first entry makes absolutely no sense to me as English grammar so make of it what you will.

P. 107 – June 4, 1736. Mr. Isaac Young, being the consideration money mentioned in his grant. 1-11

Vol. 4, (1737-1740) P. 164 – Stephens Journal, June 29, 1738.
Inspected Isaac Young’s Plantation, 150 acres on Pipemakers Creek, Savannah River Settlement.


Supplement to Vol. 4, P. 116. “We proceeded to dispatch Isaac Young, a freeholder of the town, whom we looked upon as a man capable of the business of buying horses, and whom we had partly agreed with before, Mch 28, 1741”. He executed the trust discreetly”. P. 142.


Vol. 5, 1738-1744. Journal of the Earl of Egmont. P. 176.
At a council meeting June 27, 1739, read petition of Isaac Young of Savannah, setting forth that he arrived in Georgia, Aug. 21, 1736, that he had often applied to have his grant run out, 100 acres, but could not get but 50 acres, so far, - He owes 25L to the Trustees and is working himself out of debt in the brick laying business, prays confirmation of the land grant.
P. 481 – Mch 23, 1740, Isaac Young of Savannah, employed to buy horses for Oglethorpe’s Rangers.
P. 511 – Returned with horses.

P. 691 – Apl. 16, 1743, Board of Trustees. Resolved that they confirm the purchase of Daniel Nunez’ lot by Isaac Young.

P. 693 – Apl. 18, 1743, Isaac Young permitted to assign his former lot to a younger brother
.
P. 656 - Sept. 2, 1742, Daughter of Thomas Mouse was “deceased wife of Isaac Young of Savannah”.


Vol. 17. 1754-1759, P. 200 – At a council meeting, June 6, 1755, Petition of Isaac Young for a lot in Hardwick----Granted.
P. 708 – Petition of Isaac Young for 380 acres about four miles from Savannah; says he has a wife and two children and 17 negroes and now has 600 acres, 1759.
Vol. 8 – 1759-1762. P. 139 – Petition of Isaac Young for 100 acres on Tybee Island, has 830 acres, a wife and two children and 23 negroes, 1759
Vol. 9 – 1763-1766, Minutes of Governor and Council P. 242 – At a Council, Nov. 20, 1764, Members elected to the Legislature – St. Mathews Pa. for Abercorn and Goshen, Isaac Young, Esq.

P. 613. Isaac Young, Esq. elected to represent Abercorn and Goshen, 1768
P. 167, Isaac Young and others excused from attendance on account of small-pox in Savannah, Dec. 12, 1764

Vol. 22, - Part 1, Correspondence, 1737-1739

Letter from Isaac Young – Arrived in Georgia Aug. 21, 1736, with wife, seven children and one servant.” Letter was presented by his son-in-law, and dated Mch. 29, 1738.
